Provence as a Lifestyle…

Provence is not just a region full of wine yards, olive trees and lavender fields in southeast of France; it is actually a way of living. Natural life and simplicity are the keywords for this lifestyle. Tranquility and relief are what you get in the end…

After I watched A Good Year, I felt in love with the area and started to dream about it. You might think that some things happen just in the movies; but this is time, it’s not the case. It’s even better than the movie as you can touch the floor and smell the atmosphere.

Visiting Provence is just burst of all kinds of emotion! Especially if you are living in big cities where rush and chaos are just part of your daily routine. So what does Provence offer? Sunflower and lavender fields spread as far as the eye can see… Such an amazing beauty and stunning smell… Friendliness and joy of people…

When we met people in Provence and saw the big smiles on their faces coming from their hearts, shared the laughter of the children running around the backyards, and witnessed how they prepare their meals with their own products; we realized that Provence way of living just makes you peaceful and happy.

Be careful with the bees!

I had never seen such wide lavender fields. You can’t imagine the color of them. So perfect… And they spread such amazing smell that your brain, your heart, all your body feel it… It’s like somebody puts you in the middle of a canvas drawn by Monet… Of course, it is possible to get inside of these fields and run through them. But you have to be really careful with the bees who also love lavenders as much as you do…

Natural beauty is not the only thing Provence offers… The historical heritage and cultural richness are so strong here… You should see the tiny streets of Avignon which is surrounded by mediaeval walls. You will also enjoy Gordes, which attacks people’s attention with its monastery in the middle of the lavender fields. St Paul de Vence is another mediaeval village that you should definitely visit during your trip in Provence. And of course you should go to Aix-En-Provence and follow the signs of Cezanne…

Provence also includes French Riviera… Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Saint Tropez… You know how popular they are… Although they are much more crowded comparing to the other areas, they still offers their visitors a great peace of Provence.

To sum up this trip, Provence way of living definitely raises the quality of life. People use lavender products to call down… Imagine an area full of lavender fields… Is it possible not to reach Nirvana?
